The first month of the year is already behind us and I am yet to blog about what is to come. As promised, here is the entry.
Since this photography endeavor started off as simply a hobby, my organization wasn't much of an issue. Not until this year anyway, when everyone and their brother requested photography of some sort. The flood of inquires was great, but a bit overwhelming. So far, photos have been organized in folders, a client list created, and new business cards and packaging is still in the works. Flash drives are a new addition this year, though DVDs will still be available upon request.
The next goal of mine is to partake in a charitable photo shoot or photography project. Why not give back? Offer my services for a good cause. Even if its just a couple hours of my time, it would be a rewarding experience. There's a potential NOH8 campaign photo shoot in the works! Count me in!
Another goal for this year is to organize a shoot, just because. It's always great to practice on your own, but I don't always have the models I need to do so. So this year I am organizing a shoot consisting of a group of married gals who want to get into their wedding dresses for another round of photos. The plan is to choose a location and spend a day with these ladies and just have fun. Can't wait for Spring to do this! I have about 10 ladies on board, but more are welcome! Anyone willing to do hair and makeup?
My final goal for 2013 is to work on a personal project. I did start taking my very first pictures of landscapes and was more involved with fine art photography, which I had entered in juried competitions and exhibits in and out of state. It's been a while since I was exhibited and I think it's time for a collection. A project which will create this collection of photos is entitled "A Mile in These Shoes." I won't be photographing your smiling faces, instead I will focus on your feet. Well, your shoes I should say. I think someone's shoes may have such a powerful meaning or story behind them. A marathon runner, a firefighter, a ballet dancer! Where have they been, what have they experienced, what is their story? If you'd like to help me with my project, and have a pair of shoes with a story please e-mail me! Perhaps I can use you...and your shoes!
