Spring Valley Nature Sanctuary | Schaumburg, Illinois | Engagement Photography | Anthony + Kathleen | October 6, 2018
It really is true. Love can be found at the bowling alley! As was true for these two beautiful people! Anthony + Kathleen are getting married this November and I should expect ducks! Yes, ducks! A Swarovski crystal duck will sit upon their cake. Kathleen has a slight obsession. So much so that Anthony used a plush duck as a part of his proposal. That duck will forever be a part of their love story. I'm not sure where else I will find ducks, but I forsee some surprises on their wedding day!
I've known Anthony for a few years when we worked together in the aviation industry. He couldn't have found a better girl! One of the first things I said after meeting Kathleen for the first time at their wedding consultation was, "Hey when can we go out and grab some drinks?" She's so much fun, easy to talk to and just perfect for Anthony! I can't wait to be there for your special day. Many happy years! No matter where life takes you, remember that together is the most beautiful place to be.
Yes, the yellow couch again! Everyone wants a session at Cantigny and I don't blame them. The place was crawling with photographers that Sunday evening, but what a beautiful evening it was. Since it was photos of his Auntie, Uncle and cousins, I brought my little assistant with me, my son Konrad. Can't say he was much help, just scroll down to the last photo to see one of the outakes of the cousins playing and just being kids. Super cute!
Wedding day is soon approaching for Nick and Ashley and we needed to snap some engagement photos before the big day. This was really a family engagement session, because these two kids are their world. Like I said before...welcome to the family Ashley, though you were really already family from day one. Congratulations! Can't wait to celebrate this September!
Cousins! My assistant slacking on the job....smh. LOL!
This Wildcat and Nittany Lion will be tying the knot in May! If you look up the definition of adorable in the dictionary, you'll see their picture (well you should!). Even in front of the camera Andrew + Lauren were truly enjoying their time together and took every opportunity to smile, laugh and be silly. What more could you ask for as a photographer capturing all these moments behind the lens!?
We met at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois, back to the place Andrew proposed. From wildflowers to tall spruces, this place has it all! And thankfully, Lauren's allergies remained under control while in the Spruce Lot. Any watery eyes that day might have been me, from pure cuteness overload. I lost count of how many times "you're cute" was said. So much LOVE!
Congrats Andrew + Lauren!!!
This winter I announced a small contest for newly engaged couples. To win a free complimentary engagement session, you simply needed to have your friends and family nominate you. Well Kelly was a clear winner from the start (thanks Kelly's mom!). She swept her competition and won by a landslide. This past weekend we were finally able to shoot Kelly's and her fiancé Chris's engagement session at the Morton Arboretum. This was the very same place these two got engaged just last year. Congratulations!
Morton Arboretum | Lisle, Illinois | Couple Photography | Sibling Photography | S Family | October 17, 2015
This is probably my 5th time photographing Ashley + Dan! These two are so much fun. This time we did some photos with Dan's brother and his brother's fiancée (Congrats Don + Nicole!). We chose the Morton Arboretum for our location. I have to admit, that was my first time there and I'm definitley coming back. Such a big place, and so beautiful! Especially this time of year. We did some couple shots, as well as some fun sibling shots. It was so much fun too! You need to spend approximately 30 seconds with this group to see how fun, care-free and entertaining they really are! Thanks guys for a great shoot.
These two are true high school sweethearts! Fell in love as teenagers, and now will tie the knot next fall. It was a gorgeous, mild and BRIGHT fall day at Hammel Woods where we chose to do the majority of the engagement session. The sun was indeed an obstacle, though we used it to complement each shot. These two were a ray of sunshine themselves. They were oozing all kinds of cuteness and adorableness. Too much? Not when you're in love! Many couples choose to take engagement photos at a place they first met, and Megan + Ryan were no different. We ran into the high school for a few quick shots to remember the good ol' days at PSHS. Go Cougars!
I have been waiting for this engagement session for a while. I couldn't wait to photograph this gorgeous couple and capture some of their sweetest moments. Alli + Jeff are so sweet and so in love. I think that is clear from their photos. We chose downtown Arlington Heights as our location and I couldn't be happier with the results. The urban/suburban feel was unique, different and fitting for a date night! And the evening light was truly amazing! This fellow Huskie alum and her beau will be wed next September and I'm thrilled to be able to photograph their special day at the Turnberry Country Club!
Trump Tower + Chicago Riverwalk | Chicago, Illinois | Engagement | Lindsay + Brian | August 15, 2015
Lindsay + Brian are due to wed September of next year in a beautiful barn in Michigan. You would never have guessed looking at these urban Chicago engagement photos! City dwellers themselves, the couple wanted to capture some of their intimate moments against the city's most beautiful and popular backdrops! We were lucky enough to go up to the Terrace at the Trump Tower for some cocktails (water for me, it was a sauna out there!) and some gorgeous captures from the 16th floor, surrounded by views of the city. LaSalle Street bridge was a must for Brian. He knew exactly the shot he wanted and I think we captured it well. No fear with this guy, even though I'm always a bit nervous shooting on major streets, even though we were on a median. Ahh! Turned out beautifully! We ended with a stroll along the Chicago River on the newly remodeled and reconstructed Chicago Riverwalk, just as the sun set a bit lower.
And yes, I forgot to mention that Lindsay + Brian were our engagement session winners from a few months back! These two lovebirds met in bartending school! How cool! Love cocktails all around! Cheers!
Sheena + Jeremiah are so so in love! I think it is pretty evident from the pictures! I've known this spunky, bubbly girl since I was 16. Not much has changed about her in 13 years. She's still as spunky as ever! Now she will share her bubbly personality with the man of her dreams. I couldn't be happier for these two love birds. Shooting them was so easy! Their love for each other came so naturally I hardly had to direct them or make them laugh or smile. These pictures simply unfolded by themselves. Thank you guys for making my job so easy!
Sheena + Jerimiah chose Waterglen Falls (near Argonne National Laboratory) as their engagement session location. I myself have never been there, but oh boy was I missing out. Tall trees, an overlook, creeks, trails and of course a beautiful little waterfall in the midst of it all.
Congrats Sheena + Jerimiah. I can't wait to shoot your wedding this October!
What a great looking couple! I've always wanted to do an engagement session at the Chicago Art Institute gardens and today was just perfect! Can't wait to photograph their special day coming up next month in Holland, Michigan! Congrats guys!
After being inspired by a long exposure shot of the Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park, Dan contacted me to plan a super secret birthday shoot for his fiance, Ashley! What a guy! After a nice birthday dinner and night out on the town, these two lovebirds stopped at the fountain, and SURPRISE! We also made the walk over to the Adler Planetarium. What a view!
You may be thinking to yourself, "Haven't I seen these two on the last blog?".
Or... "I remember those blue shoes!".
YEP! They are back as a newlywed couple! An extension of their wedding photos, we went out to shoot a few days later to capture more of the city (both in the evening and at night). Sporting their wedding attire once again, though more casually, I give you Kelly and Scott!
I left this morning for this shoot with a brisk temperature of 19! Needless to say I bundled up and prepped for the cold weather...extra batteries, extra camera. To my surprise the full sun was enough to warm us up! Still chilly, though this couple braved the beautiful brisk air to capture some beautiful moments. I give you David & Rotceh!
