It's been a little bit since my last high school senior shoot and I have to say that I've been missing it quite a bit. Meet this Plainfield East senior, Danny. We had quite the windy, though very beautiful November day at Settler's Park in Plainfield, Illinois. With his luscious locks and sweet smile, he is sure to be a heartbreaker. His love for the game (baseball!) led us to his stomping grounds at Plainfield East High School. Go BENGALS!
What better way to spend a Friday night than with four beautiful ladies, gorgeous light and cameras to capture it all! A few weeks ago I decided to get a few of my photographer ladies together for a mini workshop and styled shoot with Samantha as our gorgeous subject. We all worked on our strengths and our weaknesses throughout this shoot. We had to struggle with unforeseen conditions, pausing for pedestrians, continuously changing light and some really pesky mosquitos (sorry, Sam!). I shoot AV mode more than I'd like to admit (hey, no one's perfect!). I committed to shooting strictly all manual for this shoot to challenge myself a bit, especially under conditions where our light changed rapidly. Since I worked with (and loved) the soft evening light, I chose images that showcased the use of the "golden hour" light we were provided.
Special shout out to my ladies:

Check out their pages for photos from the same shoot (coming soon!). See how everyone told a story with their own esthetic and personal touch. And if anyone is looking for a model, Sam is awesome to work with!
It's been a while since I have done an early morning shoot and I forgot how insanely beautiful the sun is at those hours. Makayla had the most amazing light during her senior shoot! I decided to go soft on these to compliment the feel of the morning. This beautiful young woman is no total softie, though. She's a shortstop for her high school's softball team and will go on to play in college. What is she studying? Oh, criminal justice. Our future police officer! How awesome is that!? Good luck in everything you do Makayla!
